Hey kids,
Its been a while since I've done a right proper journal and I think its time I get back on track with something like this, even if its going to be a while before the major art flow starts coming back again (explained below).
--- [ NEW WATCHERS ]---
First off I'd like to extend a huge WELCOME and a big THANK YOU to all my new fans that I've gotten recently, both from my DD, and from sheer happenstances that normally bring people to my page. Hopefully I'll be able to get around to looking at some of you all's pages so I can watch them, but that will be determined by how swamped I get on a few things honestly. However I'd like to thank you for giving me a chance in your inbox and come later this fall I can guarantee you I won't disappoint!
---[ OTA-CON 2011 ]---
So in case you folks didn't know I went to Ota-con this year in Baltimore, MD. And that would pretty much be everyone because I didn't announce it on my dA or any other site that I'm on for that matter. The main reason of this is because I went mostly to hang out with some people and see old friends, more than to make super-bank (that's next year), but I still made a bit of pocket scratch selling some old prints and doing commissions. However this Summer dictated priorities that were much more important than getting new prints and material done for the convention. Even if I did want to do that I pretty much didn't have the means to (explained in "Art and Equipment"). But in any case, I meet too many cool people to name right now, had a blast at the convention and experienced a myriad of fun and entertaining events and conversations with the coolest people ever. Since I was trying to be behind my table most of the time however I didn't get to see everyone that I wanted, or as much as I wanted, since (especially for some people) folks started to leave on Sunday afternoon, leaving me with just 2 to 2 and a half days to get everything done. Good times though! Thanks to everyone who made it one of the best conventions I've ever been to!
---[ POST-COLLEGE ]---
I graduated from college! That's right! Its time for baby Toxic to face the real world after 4 years of higher art education. Mind you currently I need to round off my degree with two summer courses I'm taking before they actually send me my degree. But I've only got about a month more of that before I'll be done and left with a shiny new degree and crippling mountains of debt. lol.
---[ ART and EQUIPMENT ]---
You all might have noticed (those who have been watching me longer) that there has been a significant absence of art that has been uploaded on my page recently. This is mainly because of two different major reasons:
1) My time is currently split heavily between both my day job, and working on my online classes to finally get my degree and be done with school. Because one of the online classes is Math (a subject that I was diagnosed with a learning disability for back in high school) and I also go to a tutor for it, and the other is a graphic design class that constantly requires me to work on 2-D projects and scan them in in 1 to 2 weeks time.
2) During all my years at school every time I scanned in something, pulled it up on Photoshop, colored it, digitally lettered it, or toned it: it was done on school equipment. This is why there was always a "dry spell" during the days that I went back home. I didn't have any equipment of my own to do the same stuff back where I lived. So now that I'm out of school, I'm trying hard to funnel the money from my day job that was mentioned above to invest in: a scanner, a desktop, and a cyntic. I currently have secured the scanner.
---[ BIRTHDAY ]---
My birthday is on August 11th. I'm going to be 22. I feel old. Scribble me some art to make me feel better you internet barbarians. '
I'll still be online to fav and comment on work! See you guys around the net!
...Oh and grats on graduating and the acquirement of the technical equipment known as 'scanner' XD
On your birthday you should play Jay-Z's song from his debut album Reasonable Doubt "22 Twos" ...or was it "Twenty-Two 2's" Either way..it's poignant.
